Your music stays yours

Penta CDX-5 is built to be private by default. It collects no personal information, shows no ads, uses no analytics, and sends nothing about you to me or any third party.

The short version

Everything the app remembers stays on your device. The only network activity is the app talking to Apple's own Music services on your behalf to show album art and play tracks — the same way the Apple Music app does. I never see your library, your listening, or any account details.

What the app accesses

Your Apple Music library — with your permission (via Apple's MusicKit), the app reads your albums and tracks so it can display them on the discs and play them. This access happens entirely between your device and Apple. You can revoke it any time in the iOS Settings app.
Album artwork & previews — in some contexts the app looks up public album art and preview clips from Apple's iTunes Search service. These are ordinary, anonymous requests for public catalog data and include no information that identifies you.

What the app stores

On your device — which discs are loaded and your app settings are saved locally on your iPad using the system's standard storage, and are removed if you delete the app.
In your private iCloud — your favorites and saved magazines (disc combinations) sync across your own devices via Apple's iCloud key-value storage, so they stay in step on every iPad you use. This data lives in your personal iCloud account; the developer never receives it or has any access to it. If you're not signed into iCloud, it simply stays on your device.

What the app does not do

No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs of any kind.
No user accounts, sign-ups, or logins created by this app.
No collection of your name, email, location, contacts, or device identifiers.
No selling or sharing of data — there is no data to sell or share.
No changes to your Apple Music library; the app only reads it to play music.

Third parties

The app relies on Apple's MusicKit and Music services to function. Your use of Apple Music through the app is also governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. No other third-party services are used.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above. Since the app collects no data, changes are expected to be rare.
